Competition for a urban planning implementation

The proposed masterplan for Berlin’s Luisenblock reinterprets the urban block as an open, connected structure shaped by a network of public and green spaces. Opening towards the Spree, it strengthens the relationship between the city and the aterfront while integrating different uses within a coherent urban framework.
At its heart, the traditional Berlin courtyard is reimagined as a shared green space that connects the site while providing climate-resilient infrastructure. Together with the public waterfront promenade and a sequence of spaces transitioning from public to private, it creates a permeable, lively neighbourhood centred on connection, community, and urban life.
